Noatum Ports Málaga Terminal Welcomes MSC s EMUSA Service, Marking a New Chapter in Transatlantic Trade

Noatum Ports Málaga Terminal has officially joined the port rotation of MSC’s EMUSA service, a major transatlantic route linking the Mediterranean with the U.S. East Coast. This strategic shift, announced by MSC in July, replaces the Port of Algeciras with Málaga as the new Spanish call on the route.
On 12 August 2025, the MSC Magnum VII made its inaugural call at Noatum Ports Málaga Terminal under the EMUSA service, marking a significant milestone for the terminal. This first arrival reinforces Málaga’s role in global trade and strengthens its position as a key gateway for cargo flows between Europe and North America.
The EMUSA service connects vital Mediterranean ports with major destinations along the U.S. East Coast, offering exporters and importers in southern Spain a more direct and efficient logistics solution. While the full volume of imports and exports handled by the MSC Magnum VII is being finalized, the service has already generated substantial activity at the terminal.
“This development reflects the growing confidence of global shipping lines in the capabilities and strategic location of Noatum Ports Málaga Terminal,” said Cesar Cegarra, Director of the terminal. “We are proud to support MSC in this new phase of the EMUSA service and excited to strengthen our role in transatlantic trade.”
The addition of Málaga to the EMUSA rotation is expected to benefit regional industries by improving access to U.S. markets and reducing transit times. It also highlights Noatum Ports’ ongoing commitment to expanding its network and delivering high-performance logistics solutions across its terminals.
